    New To Raw:

Introducing raw for the first time or dealing with a fussy dog, here are some helpful tips to get you started:
    1. Heat the food slightly and gradually reduce this each day until your dog is eating its food in a raw state.
    2. Add some salmon oil to the top of the raw food to entice your dog.  Dogs love it and it’s a great source of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids.
    3. Flake the patty with a fork and add a little water.
    4. Stick with 1 protein for the first 2 weeks and then begin rotating through some of the other IrRAWsistible protein selections.  Rotational feeding will enable your dog to benefit from the diverse nutrition sources.
    5. If you are pursuing a gradual conversion, we do not recommend mixing the kibble with raw.  They digest differently and this may lead to an upset stomach.  Feed raw as an entire meal for the morning and kibble or wet as an entire meal in the evening, until you are able to phase out the kibble or wet commercial food.
    6. You may wish to add a probiotic or digestive enzyme to assist with digestion when converting from a processed commercial kibble or wet food to raw.
    7. Stay determined and be persistent.  The benefits of raw feeding are worth the short term inconvenience!

    Feeding Preparation:

Most dogs prefer to eat their food at room temperature.  Simply take the food from the freezer the night before and place it in your fridge in a container to thaw overnight.  Place the thawed food in your dogs dish and serve.  As with any raw meat product, surfaces, food & water bowls, and meat containers must be washed with warm soapy water, after use.

    Feeding Guidelines:

When determining how much to feed your dog, you must consider age, health, activity level, and breed. Dog owners should monitor their pets dietary intake and adjust as necessary. Place both hands on the side of your dogs ribs - when dogs are at their proper weight you should be able to feel their ribs.
Most healthy dogs will have no problem with a next day conversion to raw feeding.  However, a gradual conversion is recommended for dogs whose immune system has been compromised or for dogs experiencing other health issues.  For those dogs with immune or health issues, irRAWsistible recommends consulting a holistic veterinarian or other veterinarian experienced in raw feeding.

    Serving Guidelines:

Adult:  Feed approximately 2% of body weight
Pregnant or Lactating:  Feed approximately 4% - 5% of body weight
Puppies (8 - 10 weeks):  Feed approximately 6% of body weight
Puppies (11 weeks to 12 months): Feed approximately 4% of body weight
